What is a skin peel?

A chemical peel is a dermo-cosmetic procedure that creates a controlled and consistent shedding of the upper layers of your skin.  The peeling action causes the skin to grow new, healthier cells and the result is clearer, healthier, younger-looking complexion.

Peels vary from superficial peels to deeper peels. Depending on your skin condition and goals, your skin care specialist will recommend the correct peel for you. Deeper peels have the most dramatic results, but also have a longer recovery time than more superficial treatments.

How is it done?

During a chemical peel, a solution is brushed over your skin. In the days following your chemical peel, your skin will start to exfoliate.

What should I do before a chemical peel?

Before you have a chemical peel, you will need to discuss your skin care regimen with your skin therapist.  Certain skin care products containing alpha-hydroxy, beta-hydroxy acids or retinols should be avoided in the weeks following a chemical peel.
